Im Gegensatz zu Gregor weiß Hänsel noch nichts von dem neuen Gesetz, das es Eltern erlaubt ihre Kinder zu verkaufen wie im alten Rom. Nur diesmal nicht als Sklaven, sondern als Schlachtschweine. Hänsel hält Gregor für dumm, dass er die üppig angebotenen Speisen und Süßigkeiten nicht isst und sogar ihm überlässt. Gregor hingegen freut sich, dass er alleine Erben wird und möchte bei der Schlachtung des verdutzten Hänsels dabei sein. 

Unlike Gregor, Hansel does not yet know about the new law that allows parents to sell their children as in ancient Rome. Only this time not as slaves, but as slaughter pigs. Hansel thinks Gregor is stupid for not eating the sumptuous food and sweets offered and even leaves them to him. Gregor, on the other hand, is happy that he alone will become heir and wants to be present at the slaughter of the baffled Hansel.
