Der Wanst wächst.

Ein weiteres Thanksgivingopfer! Er liegt hechelnd am Boden. Aber da war schon vorher etwas Speck da – man schaue nur auf das Kinn! Der Junge ist pummelig geworden.
Ich finde es eine schöne amerikanische Tradion, die Söhne zu stopfen als wären sie Masttruthähne.

I think it's a nice American tradition to stuff their sons as if they were fattened turkeys.  

freshman 15 or the freshman 50?

„Sind das die berühmten freshman 15 oder er die freshman 50?“ „Irgendwas dazwischen.“ Der junge Bursche kam vom College am Vorabend von Thanksgiving wieder und sein Vor-Thanksgivingsbauch musste dokumentiert werden.
„Junge noch ein paar Pfund mehr und wir hätten gedacht, ein zweiter Masttruthahn sei geliefert worden.“ „Ich hatte gedacht du würdest im Studium Wissen ansammeln und nicht Pfunde.“ „Wissen kommt in den Kopf, Nudeln gehen direkt in den Bauch. Ist halt eine ausgewogene Verteilung.“

 

“Is that the famous freshman 15 or the freshman 50?” “Something in between.” The young lad came back from college on the eve of Thanksgiving and his pre-Thanksgiving belly had to be chronicled. “Son, a few more pounds and we would have thought a second turkey had been delivered.” “I thought you were supposed to be accumulating knowledge at college, not pounds.” “Knowledge goes into the head, noodles go straight to the belly. It's just a balanced distribution.”

Wie ich es hinkriege, dass meine Kinder nicht ihr Geld am Blackfriday verschwenden? Nun ich stopfe sie so sehr, dass sie sich zwei Tage nicht bewegen können.

„Ich fühle mich genauso gestopft wie der Truthahn.“ Das ist gut. Die Familie hat dann einen schönen Braten am Sontag. Erst mehr als Freshmen15 in den ersten Collegewochen und dann Erntedanksvöllerei. Das Schicksal dieses verfressenen Jungen ist besiegelt.

"I feel just as stuffed as the turkey." That's good. The family then has a nice roast on Sunday. First more than Freshmen15 in the first few weeks of college, and then Thanksgiving gluttony. The fate of this gluttonous boy is sealed.

Angenehmen Thanksgiving wünsche ich Euch und haut schön rein! Schlagt Euch den Wanst voll, denn es wird je nach Gewicht Eure letzte große Mahlzeit sein. Ansonsten brauchen Eure Familien ja auch noch einen Weihnachtsbraten.

Er hat keine Wackersteine im Bauch, sondern nur den Thanksgivingtruthahn. Aufstehen kann er trotzdem nicht.

„Sollen wir notschlachten oder geht es noch? Wir können ja mal reinstechen. Die Frage ist ob es dann pffft macht oder peng?"

He doesn't have any boulders in his stomach, just the Thanksgiving turkey. But he still can't get up.

"Should we butcher it or is it still okay? We can stab it once. The question is whether it will go pffft or bang?"

„Na Brüderchen, du bist ja fast so rund wie unser Thanksgivingtruthahn.“ Seine Brüder aßen fast nichts und stopften ihn stattdessen mit allen Leckereien. Und ließen ihn den Festtagsbraten alleine essen. Sonntag gab es ein zweites Festmahl und ratet mal wer der Hauptgang war?

„Ich hoffe der Truthahn ist mindestens genauso groß wie letztes Jahr. Ich habe nämlich ordentlich Hunger mitgebracht.“ Als Mason von dem College für Thanksgiving erstmalig nach Hause kam, gab es für seine Familie eine wortwörtlich große Überraschung. 

"I hope the turkey is at least as big as last year. Because I've brought a real appetite with me." When Mason came home from college for Thanksgiving for the first time, his family was in for a litarly big surprise.
