So verunfallt schon manches Bodybuilding.

Da ist die Familie stolz: Der Sohn/Bruder ist ein typischer gutaussehender All-American-Boy: Charmant, sportlich und kraftstrotzend. Hochgepäppelt und aufgefüttert zu einem vom Trainer vorgegeben Zielgewicht, hat er eine kleine Wampe. Dies ist der Samen für seine zukünftige Verfettung. Wenn er nicht an der Uni in ein Collegesportteam beitritt. Er ist zu Verfressenheit erzogen worden. Wenn dann noch der Alkohol dazukommt…
Zwei, drei Stunden wöchentlich im Fitnessraum seines Wohnheims werden ihn auch nicht retten.

The family is proud: the son/brother is a typical good-looking All-American boy: charming, athletic and bursting with strength. He has been pampered and fed to a target weight set by the trainer, but has a small paunch. This is the seed for his future obesity. Unless he joins a college sports team in college. He has been brought up to be a glutton. If alcohol is added to the mix...

Two or three hours a week in the gym in his dorm won't save him either.

Seitdem der Fastfoodladen hier auf seinem Schulweg geöffnet hat, ist der Junge ein wenig auseinandergegangen.

Mein Sohn ist schon ziemlich dick. Er hat gerade die 100 Kilo geknackt bei 1m84. Er spielt, was in Deutschland selten ist, American Football und hat sich sogar dafür aufpäppeln lassen beziehungsweise sich regelrecht gemästet um Defensive Lineman zu werden. Er steht jetzt an der Grenze zur Adiposität. Aber was soll ich sagen er hat weiterhin gute Noten in Sport. Das Team hat sogar einen Sportarzt und der versicherte mir das alles in Ordnung sei. Er war schon vorher kräftig-pummelig. Aber ich bin mir sicher, dass er mindestens so viel Speck wie Muskeln zugelegt hat, als er 16 Kilo zugenommen hat.

My son is already quite fat. He has just cracked 100 kilos at 1m84. He plays American football, which is rare in Germany, and has even fattened himself up to become a defensive lineman. He is now on the verge of obesity. But what can I say, he still has good grades in sports. The team even has a sports doctor and he assured me that everything was fine. He was already stout and chubby before. But I'm sure he put on at least as much flab as muscle when he gained 16 kilos.

„Junge geh einfach nicht mehr ständig zu McDonalds.“ „Aber ich habe ständig Hunger!“ „Gut dann koche ich für dich zukünftig die doppelte Portion.“ „Lieber die dreifache!“ „Die musst du dann aber auch aufessen!“
Da er nicht zugeben wollte, dass er sich überschätzt hatte, wurde er in Folge gestopft wie eine Weihnachtsgans. 

"My brother is pregnant - I can already hear the baby gurgling." "Ma, tell your son not to be so mean, you should have parented my brother better!"

"Boy just stop going to McDonalds all the time." "But I'm hungry all the time!" "Well then, I'll cook double portions for you in future." "I'd rather have three!" "But then you'll have to finish it!"

As he didn't want to admit that he had overestimated himself, he was subsequently stuffed like a Christmas goose.

„Ich war die Herbstferien bei entfernten Verwandten in Polen. Ich bekam immer und immer wieder Essen neu auf den Teller geladen. Obwohl ich immer ablehnte und verzweifelt versuchte zu verstehen zu geben, dass ich proppenvoll sei, wurde ich genötigt mehr zu essen. Das Essen war sehr lecker, aber ich konnte nicht mehr. Erst gegen Ende des Urlaubs wurde mir klar, dass ich erst dann nix mehr aufgetan bekomme, wenn ich meinen Teller nicht aufesse. Dies ist dort so üblich. Ich habe so zugenommen, dass ich eine Hose von meinem Cousin 3. Grades borgen musste, um nach Hause zu fahren zu können. Wir mussten für mich großenteils neue Kleidung kaufen. Meine Mutter hat gelacht und gemeint ich sei halt etwas stattlicher geworden. Aber dann hinzugefügt, ich solle mir keine Gedanken machen, ich sei noch weit entfernt pummelig zu sein.“

Das Lachen ist der Mutter vergangen, als sie in den nächsten Tagen sah welche Mengen jetzt ihr Junge aß und sogar nach dem reichlichen Sonntagsmahl fragte ob er noch was zu essen bekommen könne, er sei noch hungrig. Der Junge hat seinen Magen dauerhaft überdehnt. 

"I spent the fall vacations with distant relatives in Poland. I was given food over and over again. Although I always refused and desperately tried to make them understand that I was full to bursting, I was forced to eat more. The dishes were very tasty, but I could not eat any more. Only towards the end of the vacation did I realize that I would not get any more food until I did not finish my plate. This is so common there. I gained so much weight that I had to borrow a pair of pants from my 3rd cousin to go home. We had to buy new clothes for me for the most part. My mother laughed and said I had just gotten a little more stately. But then added that I shouldn't worry, I was still far from being chubby."

The mother stopped laughing when she saw in the next few days how much her boy was now eating and even asked after the rich Sunday meal if he could still get something to eat, he was still hungry. The boy has permanently overstretched his stomach.
