„Mutti du hast doch immer gesagt, dass ich etwas dünn sei, da wird es dich doch sicher freuen, dass ich eine vollere Figur bekommen habe bei Großtante Gertrud. Schau mal ich bin jetzt richtig stämmig geworden. Wir müssen noch vor Schulbeginn neue Klamotten für mich kaufen, die alten passen nicht mehr. Und Großtante Gertrud würde sich sehr freuen, wenn ich die Herbstferien verbringe. Sie ist doch immer so einsam seit Großonkel Paul gestorben ist.“

We have to buy new clothes for me before school starts, the old ones don't fit anymore. And great-aunt Gertrud would be very happy if I spent the autumn vacations with her. She's always been so lonely since Great Uncle Paul died."
