No warning

Niemand warnt Jungs, wenn sie mit Anfang zwanzig etwas speckiger in der Mitte werden, denn sie sind ja noch schlank. Ganz im Gegenteil, man sagt ihnen, sie sähen männlicher aus oder gar kräftiger – obwohl die Arme immer noch streichholzdünn sind.
Erst wenn sie zu fett und vor allem sich  an den ungesunden Lebensstil gewöhnt haben, gibt es negative Kommentare.

Nobody warns boys when they get a bit flabbier around the middle in their early twenties, because they are still slim. On the contrary, they are told that they look more masculine or even stronger - even though their arms are still as thin as matchsticks.
It's only when they get too fat and, above all, get used to an unhealthy lifestyle that negative comments are made.
